What If?

It’s normal to have fears, and in fact sometimes appropriate, but when it gets in the way of moving forwards and making progress it costs us so much more than we realise. Some common fears I have heard lately. – What if it doesn’t work? – What if I don’t get better? – What if I fail? – What if I don’t make progress? ALL THESE ‘WHAT IFS’ are costing you! What if… you didn’t have any what ifs right now. Don’t you think you would just apply what works? Don’t you think you’d SAVE energy and instead use it on something more enhancing for your life and self. Don’t you think that you would simply become UNSTUCK. Fears are normal, but you have to override them to get change. Otherwise you can let fear decide and stay stuck… forever. There comes a time when you just have to say, ‘enough is enough’, I am going to start, I am going to make a change and I am no longer doing it the way I have done it up until this point.

If you always do what you’ve always done you will always get what you’ve always got!

Take a moment to think on that sentence…

We so often do the same thing over and over again, how many times have I taken over a role and asked the question ‘Why do you do it like that?’ the response undoubtedly is always because we haven’t thought to do it any differently, any better, apply change or approach or asked someone???

We are creatures of habit, we like ritual, we like certainty and to know outcomes, the question I have for this is are you bored or boring?

So, I have a challenge for you;

If you could change one thing today what would it be?

When you wake up in the morning what is the first thing you do? – check you phone, check the time, check updates, emails and so it goes on, we get dragged down into the rabbit hole just as the Mad Hatter did looking for that tea party which he never ever gets to. What would have happened to Alice had he changed from looking at his watch to listening to what she was saying, what if he took notice of what was going on around him, do you think he would have a different result? I am fairly certain he would have, but then again, we wouldn’t have a wonderful story to read or listen too.

So, tomorrow when you wake up, take note of what it is you do first, and change things up a bit, you never know where you might end up at the end of the day.
