Our team at the Chronic Pain Relief Online Clinic is a small team of talented professionals with a wide range of skills and experience.
We love what we do, and do it with passion.
Each one of our specialist therapists brings lived and learnt experience to the clinic. They met when undertaking training with The Chrysalis Effect that supports people in recovery from CFS, M.E and Fibromyalgia and formed a unique bond. Carole was living and working in New Zealand at the time, and moved over to the UK with thoughts of setting up an online clinic that would support people from all over the world. Time and distance has no meaning when it comes to chronic pain and medically unexplained symptoms.
It soon became clear that there was so much more to supporting clients. Treatment needed to be educational, evidence based and most importantly of all self empowering. Training in the SIRPA approach based on Dr Sarno’s work, linking the physical pain to emotional stressors made sense. The most important realisation was, that while undergoing the SIRPA training, they discovered that the last vestiges of their own symptoms disappeared. This put them in a unique position of understanding, and creates a strong bond and trust that recovery is possible for clients as they learn about the unique wellbeing journey that their therapist has experienced firsthand.
Clinic Founder & Head Practitioner
In 2007, Carole was struggling to cope with the chronic conditions of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue (more commonly known as M.E. and CFS). As a mum to four boys, a wife, a carer for her in-laws, and with a demanding job in the NHS, she became just too exhausted to cope anymore. While her mind said, “you have to keep going,” her body very firmly said, “that is enough!”
Coming to terms with the fact that she wasn’t superwoman was a very humbling experience for Carole. For someone who was used to supplying answers and juggling everything that life threw at her, the reality of the situation of not being able to cope or work really took her legs from under her, she simply didn’t know who she was anymore. Does any of that sound familiar?
Carole grew up in a very dysfunctional household, often moving with no real safety or security. Growing up that way became ‘the norm’ and being a sensitive child didn’t help. We now know what she experienced to be called ‘Adverse Childhood Experiences’ (ACEs) and that these pre-disposed medical outcomes affect us long into our adult lives. Once Carole understood how this had impacted her, she trained to become a Psychotherapist and Transformational Wellbeing Coach and now works with people who are looking for emotional support and recovery.
“Believe me, if you are willing to put the work in, recovery is possible, as I and other people who have used a psychophysiological approach can testify” - Dr Sarno explains this in his book, ‘The Mind Body Prescription’.
From her life experiences and clinical knowledge, Carole set up the Chronic Pain Relief Online Clinic. Carole's own lived experience helps her to connect with and support clients who struggle with long term unexplained medical conditions and Chronic Pain associated with stress and trauma on a personal level, and allows her to have a unique understanding of what her clients are experiencing.
The latest addition to the clinic is The Mindbody Learning Zone, and Carole also co-delivers SIRPA’s 12-week Mindbody Wellness Group Coaching Programme, as well as being a member of the SIRPA Board.

Elaine was inspired to study Nutritional Therapy several years ago when she was diagnosed with a chronic health condition. After she experienced how changes to lifestyle and diet had a massive, positive impact on her health, she became passionate about the power of food and the benefits it can have both physically and emotionally, and she wanted others to experience these benefits too. She also has a special interest in ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia that started when a family member became affected. Elaine understands the struggles and day-to-day challenges and the frustrations of trying to find answers, and she knows the impact it can have on clients and their loved ones.
She believes that everyone is unique and this is reflected in the way she works. She doesn’t adhere to the ‘one size fits all’ approach and treats her clients as individuals with their own specific challenges and requirements. Elaine takes the time to listen and understand them, so that each plan is tailor made to the client and they get exactly what they need at the right time. As a Specialist Practitioner with The Chrysalis Effect she works with the Nutrition and Thyroid/Adrenals areas for referral.
Elaine is a Registered Nutritional Therapist. She is a member of BANT (British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine), ANP (Association of Naturopathic Practitioners) and registered with CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council), a government appointed accrediting body that ensures all registrants are bound by the highest standards of conduct.
